This one’s for you. :) sincesheleft: We were on the porch sipping coffee, old lovers who had found our way back to being friends again. He was there keeping me  company and patiently listening to my moans of self doubt and pity as I asked for advice on what to do next.  He leaned forward and brushed the hair out of my face that had made it’s way behind my glasses, “Hush it, you’re adorable and kind of smart, it’s his loss, not yours.” He had the easiest gentle smile on his face, and it was then I appreciated him for his real worth. Not many men would sit here and let me mourn the end of a relationship, at least not without eventually trying anything he shouldn’t. We sat there, chain smoking cigarettes and refilling our coffee cups for nearly three hours, looking through old catalogs joking about which house we would want, drawing mustaches on the ads, and having a genuinely comfortable time.  One day, he’ll find a girl who cares for him as much as I do without all the baggage that I bring along. We can be friends, I just hope he can find someone soon.
